Paired Kidney Donation is a program that offers people in need of a kidney transplant an additional opportunity for a transplant. 

This program is offered to recipients who have donors who either do not match their blood type or who cannot accept a kidney from a donor.

 

Due to there being a strong chance, they would reject the kidney or if the donor is interested in amplifying the effect of their gift by helping more than one person in need of a kidney transplant.

 

In this program, donor and recipient Pairs are matched with other pairs in the same situation. The donor from Pair 1 donates to the recipient from Pair 2, and the donor from Pair 2 donates to the recipient from Pair 1.
